Parish General Manager & Secretary to the Parochial Church Council

The Parish General Manager and Secretary to the Parochial Church Council at St Mary’s Church Battersea is a broad, rewarding and impactful role that requires effective leadership, estate and facilities management and excellent relationship management, especially of volunteers. This is a role which offers opportunity to shape the life and operations of St Mary’s alongside day to day running of the church over the next year.

Alongside duties that go with a busy church office: dealing with the competing demands of individuals, church members and the breadth of commercial and charitable bodies we interact with, there are two major pieces of work. These are to complete the refurbishment of the river moorings at the church, taking place in 2022/23 and developing opportunities to use the church/churchyard for commercial purposes to support Church revenue.

The position is a full-time fixed term contract of 21 months with the opportunity to convert to permanent if the business development side is viable. This includes 6 weeks’ holiday (plus Bank Holidays), with part of this taken between Christmas Day and early January.
