THIS WEEK’S NOTICES
Please note that, from today, our evening service time changes to 6.00pm.
Winter Recital Series: This begins next Sunday 15th January and will run until the end of February. Concerts are at 3pm every Sunday afternoon and are free. First recitalist: Tyrone Whiting, Organ.
Winifred Stone RIP: We are sorry to report the peaceful death of Winifred Stone, at the age of 90. Winifred’s Requiem Eucharist will be at St Mary’s on Monday 16th January at 1.00pm
Kate Bishop RIP: Kate’s Memorial Service will take place on Saturday 21st January 2017 at 2.30pm followed by a traditional English Tea.
A Sewing Club in Church, Tuesday mornings is proposed, to start mid-January as a drop in, knit or hand sew get together. Contact Susanna Williams 07811 406 080.
Next Parish Lunch: There will be a lunch after the 11am service on Sunday 29th January, prepared by the Sunday Morning Study Group. If another group would like to arrange a Parish Lunch in the coming months, please contact one of the Church Wardens.
Welcomers: Carol Bailey has now begun to draft a new-look rota for welcomers on Sunday mornings and we realise that we urgently need some new volunteers to take part in welcoming people to church. This is a very important ministry and we are keen to find some people able to offer a friendly greeting and help to first time worhsippers or visitors. Please speak to Carol ([email protected]), Simon or Colin to find out more. New & Old Welcomers Please Note: there will be a very important Welcomers’ Evening Meeting on Tuesday 31st January in Church, from 7.30pm to 9.pm. Please come!
Junior Church Leaders’ Training: The rescheduled date for this important training is Monday 6th February at 7.30pm in Church.
Parochial Church Council: The Church Council meets on 21st January for its annual half-day meeting. Three main items are on the agenda: the idea of introducing a regular ministry of healing and wholeness into Church services; an initial conversation about holding a Parish Mission with Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in 2018; and the possibility of replacing the pews in church with chairs (the latter being an idea that members of the PCC wanted to consider as part of the Mission Action Plan).
Winter Recital Series
Our increasingly popular series of Sunday afternoon recitals returns next Sunday!
Sunday 15th January – Sunday 26th February 2017
