THIS WEEK’S NOTICES
Canon Simon Butler is on holiday until Saturday 10th June. Urgent matters should be referred to the Churchwardens. The Office can deal with everyday enquiries.
Church Open to Visitors: If you can help keep the church open during the Summer, please sign up at the back of church. There are two, two-hour slots each Sunday afternoon. No local history knowledge required.
Today, 11th June and 18th June in the afternoon we will be serving tea and scones kindly donated by GAIL’S Artisan Bakery, Battersea Square.
The Ministry of Healing & Wholeness: Following our Lent sermon series and the much-appreciated modelling of this ministry, the Church Council has decided to introduce the opportunity to receive prayer for healing and wholeness as a regular part of our Sunday 11am service, on the last Sunday of each month, beginning in June on Sunday 28th.
Godly Play: Our Junior Church Leaders are having an Introductory Day & Extended Skills Workshop for this new approach to Christian education with children. It’s on Saturday 17th June. There are still a few (free) places if anyone would like to join us. Please have a word with Simon in the first instance. It promises to be very rewarding.
Kingston Episcopal Area Lay Conference: I am delighted to invite all members of congregations in Kingston Episcopal Area to our 2017 Lay Conference on 17 June 2017, starting at 9.15pm for 9.30pm and ending at 2pm. The event is at St Cecilia’s School, Sutherland Grove, London SW18 5JR and there will be something for everyone who is interested in deepening their own Christian life and supporting the work of their church. The full programme will be available after Easter on the online booking website (see below) and tickets include a hot buffet lunch. The price is £15 each or £10 each for members of groups of five or more. If you have any queries do contact Romana Nelson, [email protected] I hope very much to see you there. +Richard Dr Richard Cheetham, Bishop of Kingston.

Journeying Together: Setting Out. St Mary’s is planning a new pattern of growth opportunities based on short sets of courses designed for various groups in the church. We’re calling it Journeying Together and the first set, called Setting Out, is designed for those new to St Mary’s and those exploring the Christian faith, possibly with a view to Confirmation later in the year. Journeying Together: Setting Out will run over three Tuesdays, 20th, 27th June and 4th July, from 7.30pm to 9.15pm, and will include an evening meal. It will be led by Simon Butler and Colin Wimsett.
