THIS WEEK’S NOTICES

Please take away our Holy Week Brochure today.

This Sunday: Mothering Sunday: The posies for Mothering Sunday, which will be given out today, have been donated by Libby Bradshaw in memory of her Mother who died on this date in 2004. Don’t forget to visit the stall in aid of the Flower Fund after the 11 a.m. service; we are selling homemade produce: cakes, biscuits, fudge, Bakewell tarts, lemon curd and much else besides.

Sermon Series on Healing & Wholeness: As a conclusion to our sermon series on Healing & Wholeness, our 11am service next Sunday will include the opportunity to receive prayer with the laying-on-of-hands. This will be a natural way to end the service and to show how this ministry could be incorporated into our worship.

Taizé Service: we will be holding a special, contemplative style service for Passiontide in Church on Tuesday 4th April at 7.30pm. It will be in the style of the Taizé Community and will last an hour. An ideal way to prepare for Holy Week.

Annual Spring Clean: Please join us in helping to prepare our wonderful church for Holy Week and the year ahead. Annual Spring Clean at St.Mary’s on Saturday 8th April 2017 from 9am to 12noon. Do make a note of the date – everyone is welcome.

Palm Sunday: If you would like to participate in the dramatic reading of the Passion on Palm Sunday 9th April speak to Sue Hughes ([email protected]) soon.

Palm Sunday Concert: In the evening St Mary’s Choir, soloists and an orchestra will be performing a concert of sacred music, including Fauré’s Requiem and the Stabat Mater by Josef Rheinberger (a contemporary of Brahms). This is always a very special evening and it will be free with a retiring collection at 6.00pm

Electoral Roll: March is the time when we update our church membership list, known as the Electoral Roll. If you have joined St Mary’s in the past year, and consider it your spiritual home, please fill out an Electoral Roll form available at the back and place it in the labelled box. If you’re on the Roll already you don’t need to do anything unless your details have changed.

St Mary’s Annual Church Meeting: This will be on Tuesday 25th April at 7.30pm, preceded by drinks and nibbles from 7pm. You might like to think about serving your Church or the wider Church of England locally: we shall be electing a People’s Church Warden, four members to serve on Battersea Deanery Synod and three members of the Parochial Church Council. Nomination sheets are on the board at the back of church. There will be a special presentation about our forthcoming Parish Mission in 2018.

EAST AFRICA FAMINE CRISIS

St Mary’s Away Giving Group are organising retiring collections for the Disasters Emergency Committee East Africa Crisis Appeal at every service on Sundays 2nd, 9th & 16th April (Easter Day).

More details soon.
