However, we are please to inform the church that the parties concerned have, this week, agreed to pay the costs ordered to be paid to us for our legal expenses up to last March. We expect to receive well over £20,000 in the coming days. Other elements of current developments are not being shared, so as not to prejudice the good progress being made.

FaithWorks 18: Forthcoming Events

FaithWorks 18: If you’ve not heard much about FaithWorks 18 yet, please take one of the A3 brochures at the back of church.

Sacred Heart Lecture Series: As part of their preparation for their renewal in mission, Sacred Heart are hosting a series of weekday lectures. The first of these will focus on the history of the churches and will be on Monday 22nd January (7pm for 7.30pm) at Sacred Heart Church. We are warmly invited. Fr Gerry & Simon will speak

Community Showcase: The team organising this big event on 15th September is having its first planning meeting this Thursday 25th January at 8pm in the crypt. We warmly invite people who might be interested in helping with this to join us then!

Lent Groups: Details of our Lent Groups are on the noticeboard at the back. This year we shall be using an ecumenical study guide called The Joy of the Gospel based on the writings of Pope Francis. Our groups will be shared with Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church as part of our FaithWorks 18 preparation. Please sign up at the back indicating which group you would like to join for this five-week course.

Getting Involved in FaithWorks 18: You’ll see from the brochure that there are a number of big events in the autumn taking place under the FaithWorks banner and we are keen to involve a good number of people in helping to plan and run these events. The Congregational Life Working Group will be conducting a simple survey to find out what you might be willing to help with, which will be both online and in hard copy. Please fill this survey out as soon as possible. Hard copies can be returned to the letter box at the back of church: online surveys will be collated automatically.

Pilgrimage for Peace and Remembrance to Passchendaele in 2018. Please do take a look at the details of what will be an exciting and moving long weekend, 1st-4th June 2018. Full information on the board at the side of church. We encourage you to think about bringing friends with you: they will be most welcome. Today is the last day to express an interest: David Britten will be contacting those who have signed up so far to turn interest into commitment through a booking deposit.
