Everyone Campaign 2016: Today is Pledge Sunday. If you have not brought your pledge card back today, please do so as soon as possible.
Junior Church Leaders’ Training: Our Junior Church Leaders are meeting on Monday 28th November for some special training in “Godly Play”, a different method of learning about the Christian Faith based on play. If you would like to come along that evening at 7.30pm, please let Simon or Cal Alphonse know.
Next Sunday: Advent Sunday
St Mary’s Advent Fair (2pm-5pm): Please come to our first Advent Fair!
Cake Stall: Calling all bakers and jam makers. If you are able to contribute cakes, mince pies, jams, chutneys etc, please email [email protected] or call 07939 068 971. We would also love some volunteers to help on the stall (2pm – 5pm).
Advent Carol Service: Our Advent Carol Service will begin at 6.00pm. Come and join this special service of readings, carols and anthems.
Christingle Service: Sunday 11th December at 4.00pm: Come and join in this special Service of Light, receive a Christingle and support the work of the Children’s Society.
Please note: The Christingle Choir will now rehearse during Eucharist at the end of Junior Church starting this week; Contact Ruth: [email protected]
Advent Sunday Evenings: This year, in place of Evening Prayer on Sunday 4th & Sunday 11th September, Simon will lead us in two Advent Musical Meditations, with words for reflection and recorded classical music. 6.30pm each evening.
An Advent Suggestion: A Reverse Advent Calendar: Why not join many others doing something different this Advent. Instead of (or alongside) the typical Advent Calendar, why not put a box aside and place a food store cupboard item (or something equally useful) in it each day. At the end of the Advent Season, then bring your box to church and we will donate everything collected to our local Food Bank.
Children’s Society: Christmas Cards and Advent Calendars are on display at the back of the church by the lift. Please support vulnerable children by purchasing these. Order forms by the display. Libby Bradshaw, [email protected]
Meadbank: The funeral of Nuala Oates, the wonderful receptionist at Meadbank, will be at Lambeth Crematorium on Tuesday 1.15pm. The procession will leave Meadbank at 12.30pm for the Crematorium. All are welcome to attend. Carol Brindle has details .
