Consultation on Pews & Chairs: If you would like to take part in this consultation, please have a look at the display at the side of the church and return your feedback form by the end of October.
Katharine Low Settlement AGM: Always a happy and well-attended event (more a celebration and showcase than a traditional AGM), members of St Mary’s are warmly invited to attend the KLS AGM on Wednesday this week from 7pm to 9pm. Party food and drink. Katherine Low Settlement is on Battersea High Street just by the railway bridge. Entrance in Orville Road.
50th Wedding Anniversary: Geoff and Carol Brindle are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday 15th October after the 11am Service with music, champagne and cupcakes. All are welcome
Card Reader Trial: If you would like to give by card, you can do so immediately after the service near the lift at the back of church
St Mary’s Choir has now returned to serving the church after its Summer Break and always welcomes new members. Feel free to turn up to a Choir Practice at 7.30pm on a Wednesday evening.
Everyone 2018 is our annual renewal of financial stewardship – every autumn we ask everyone at St Mary’s to review their giving to the church for the coming year. Pledge Sunday will be 19th November this year.
Advent Fair: This will take place on Sunday 3rd December from 2pm to 5.30pm
Coming Soon…FaithWorks 18
St Mary’s is planning a Parish Mission called FaithWorks 18 in the autumn of 2018, which will give us the chance to work alongside our Roman Catholic friends at Sacred Heart, who will also be holding their own Mission to coincide with their 125th Anniversary. FaithWorks 18 aims to do two things:
- encourage a renewed commitment to St Mary’s presence and activity in Battersea for the common good in the name of Jesus Christ;
- give a chance for members of St Mary’s to bring friends/guests to a variety of enjoyable events that will offer gentle opportunities to consider the life of faith in Jesus Christ;
A planning group is now hard at work putting together a programme for the Mission and a season of prayer and preparation. More details soon.
