THIS WEEK’S NOTICES

The Parish Carol Service is tonight at 6.30 pm will be followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Please bring mince pies this evening and any help with serving them or the mulled wine, or washing up, will be welcome. If you would like to contribute to the cost of the wine, contact Sarah Macnab 07788 723 717.

Sunday 1st January: There will only be one service on Sunday 1st January at 11.00am. The normal pattern resumes on Sunday 8th January, when we shall be welcoming families whose children baptised here in the last two years or so to our 11am service. Please note: from 8th January, the evening service time becomes 6pm, not 6.30pm.

Parish Office Closure: The Parish Office will be closed 23rd December 2016 until

4th January 2017. Please note: the Office will be deep cleaned and extensively tidied early in the New Year. Personal items must be removed before Christmas to avoid the risk of disposal! Thank you.

Emma Belak has recently moved to Trinity Hospice from the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and is very much hoping to make some real progress in the coming weeks. She remains full of faith and anxious to hear news of St Mary’s. Please keep praying for Emma, but check with her in advance (via email or text) before visiting. Thank you. Simon

Kate Bishop RIP: Kate’s Memorial Service will take place on Saturday 21st January 2017 at 2.30pm followed by a traditional English Tea.

Winifred Stone RIP: We are sorry to report the peaceful death of Winifred Stone.

Welcoming Baptism Families: On Sunday 8th January, the Feast of Jesus’s Baptism, we have invited the families of those children we have baptised in the past two years to join us for a special service at 11am. Do come along to welcome them.

A Sewing Club in Church, Tuesday mornings is proposed, to start mid January as a drop in, knit or hand sew get together. Contact Susanna Williams 07811 406 080.

Welcomers: Carol Bailey has now begun to draft a new-look rota for welcomers on Sunday mornings and we realise that we urgently need some new volunteers to take part in welcoming people to church. This is a very important ministry and we are keen to find some people able to offer a friendly greeting and help to first time worhsippers or visitors. Please speak to Simon or Colin to find out more or contact Carol Bailey herself early in the New Year ([email protected]). New & Old Welcomers Please Note: there will be a very important Welcomers’ Evening Meeting on Tuesday 31st January in Church, from 7.30pm to 9.pm. Please come!

St Mary’s Moorings Scheme: As the year ends, we can report extensive and extremely positive progress on the Moorings Scheme. The PCC is feeling very confident that we can complete the redevelopment of the Moorings in 2017.
