THIS WEEK’S NOTICES
Harvest Festival is Next Sunday. We are collecting donations of non-perishable food for Wandsworth Foodbank at all our services that day. Please be generous. There will also be a Harvest Parish Lunch after the service that day.
Consultation on Pews & Chairs: If you would like to take part in this consultation, please have a look at the display at the side of the church and return your feedback form by the end of October.
Blessing of Pets: Calling all pet owners! Please bring your pets to Church at the 11am service on Sunday 1st October. Do invite you friends and family to bring theirs too!
Own a Bike You No Longer Need: A member of the congregation on very restricted income is looking for a bike. If you would be willing to donate it, please let Simon know.
Card Reader Trial: If you would like to give by card, you can do so immediately after the service near the lift at the back of church
Colin Wimsett: Colin has now moved permanently to Brighton. He will be with us on Sunday 1st October at 11am for a proper goodbye.
Tyrone Whiting has been appointed Director of Music at Grace Church, Newark, New Jersey in the United States (subject to Visa). We shall be saying farewell to him at some point later this term, but we are not exactly sure when yet. Details will follow.
Weekday Worship: Don’t forget that there are opportunities to worship during the week. The Eucharist is celebrated on Tuesday at 8.30am and Thursday at 12.30pm and Morning Prayer is said on a Monday and Wednesday at 8.30am. These are quiet opportunities to worship, ideal if you’ve not been able to get to church on Sunday.
Holiday: Please note that Simon will be unavailable from 2nd – 21st October. Do speak to him soon if you have anything that needs attention while he’s away.
St Mary’s Choir has now returned to serving the church after its Summer Break and always welcomes new members. Feel free to turn up to a Choir Practice at 7.30pm on a Wednesday evening.
Organ & Choral Scholars: Callum Anderson (Organ Scholar) and Aaron Akugbo (Bass Choral Scholar) have already joined the team. We will welcome Rosanna Harris (Soprano Choral Scholar) at the beginning of October.

Coming Soon…FaithWorks 18
St Mary’s is planning a Parish Mission called FaithWorks 18 in the autumn of 2018, which will give us the chance to work alongside our Roman Catholic friends at Sacred Heart, who will also be holding their own Mission to coincide with their 125th Anniversary. FaithWorks 18 aims to do two things:
¶ encourage a renewed commitment to St Mary’s presence and activity in Battersea for the common good in the name of Jesus Christ;
¶ give a chance for members of St Mary’s to bring friends/guests to a variety of enjoyable events that will offer gentle opportunities to consider the life of faith in Jesus Christ;
A planning group is now hard at work putting together a programme for the Mission and a season of prayer and preparation. More details soon.
