This Week’s Notices

St Mary’s Family & Children’s Minister: The PCC decided at its meeting this week that, having invested for three years in a full-time Family and Children’s Minister, it would be ending this post when Asi Munisi’s contract comes to an end in mid-September. Regrettably, the cost of such a post (£90,000 over the three years) makes it difficult to sustain at the moment. Simon has written to all the Junior Church parents expressing our gratitude to Asi for her work over the past three years and expressing the PCC’s commitment to ensuring that we continue to serve our children and families as well as we possibly can. More details soon, including details of how we shall say goodbye and thank you to Asi in September.

Revd. Peter & Alison Wintgens: If you would like to contribute to Peter and Alison’s leaving gift, please send your donation directly to the Parish Office (marked “Peter & Alison’s Leaving Gift”). Alternatively you can do the same via the Sunday collection.

Farewell Party: On Sunday 24th July there will be a leaving and picnic party after the 11am service in the Church and Churchyard. Details soon. Save the date!

Christian Aid Breakfast: This will be immediately after the 8.30am service next Sunday. The speakers at both morning services will be Alison Wintgens and Cal Alphonse.

Christian Aid Sponsorship: On Sunday 22nd May I will be joining others in the annual Circle the City to raise money for Christian Aid.  This is a 10km walk around some of the City of London churches.  Please sponsor me online at Justgiving.com or sign up on my sponsorship form.  Thank you, Hatta Hodson.

Sunday Morning Study Group: The Sunday Morning Group will be following a six-week course on the Lord’s Prayer starting on Sunday 5th June. The course is part of the Church of England’s Pilgrim Course designed to deepen and strengthen our relationship with God. This course is also very suitable as a stand-alone exploration of how Jesus taught us to pray.  Everyone is welcome to join this course on Sunday mornings between 9.30 and 10.45am in the Crypt. There is a sign up form at the back of the church or contact Colin Wimsett for further information.

Sound System & WiFi: The Church Council decided this week to use the bequest of Rose Shaw to replace the sound system and to provide the Church and Crypt with permanent fibre broadband wifi. Both should be installed by the end of June.

For Your Prayers

Prayer for the Week:

God who dwells in temple and heart,

when we are rushing round anxiously without you,

when we forget to seek you in the obvious place,

still us; sit us down in your presence,

amaze us with your wisdom

and show us where our true focus should really be –

on Jesus Christ your son, our Lord. Amen.
