Notices 10th JUly 2016

This Week’s Notices

Revd. Peter & Alison Wintgens: If you would like to contribute to Peter and Alison’s leaving gift, please send your donation directly to the Parish Office (marked “Peter & Alison’s Leaving Gift”). Alternatively you can do the same via the Sunday collection.

Peter & Alison’s Farewell Party: We’re having a Leaving Picnic and Drinks in the Churchyard after the 11am service on Sunday 24th July. Please sign up with offers of food on the noticeboard at the back of church. There will be some games for children.

St Mary’s Fair: This year’s Fair will take place on Saturday 17th September and offers of help are now being sought. Please contact Debbie Apostolides ([email protected]) to find out what you can do in this fun-filled fundraising afternoon. Sign up at the back.

Meadbank need Wheelchairs – Does anyone have a spare light wheelchair not being used at present? At Meadbank they currently don’t have enough wheelchairs to get all those who’d like to come to church down to church. Meadbank could use just a few of the lightweight ones and it may be that someone might have one tucked away not being used. If so, please contact the church office.

Summer Worship: From Sunday 31st July until the last Sunday of August, St Mary’s goes into ‘summer mode’: the 8.30am service remains the same, the choir take a few weeks’ off and the liturgy at the 11am service simplifies. The 6.30pm worship pattern changes to each Sunday being Evening Prayer.

Summer Junior Church: Junior Church during these weeks is run by a small team of volunteers. Please speak to Asi Munisi to get involved.

Summer Hymns: If you’d like us to sing a favourite hymn during these weeks – especially if you don’t think it’s been sung for a while – please let the Vicar know.

Toddler Group at Dimson Lodge: After many years of operating the Monday Toddler Group at Dimson Lodge is to close this Summer. Plans for our ministry to parents and toddlers will be discussed in the coming weeks. An enormous thank you to all who have been involved over the years.

Thursday Bible Study Group: No meetings now until Thursday 28th July.

Battersea Deanery Drama Group: We need actors, singers, dancers, and production team for the Pantomime in January 2017. Planning meeting at Christ Church, Battersea on Friday 15th July between 7pm and 8.30pm. All welcome.

Sunday Afternoon Open Church: Please sign up at the back to help keep the church open and welcome to visitors on summer Sunday afternoons.

Ministry to Families & Children

If you were unable to be at our meeting about the future of our ministries to families and children last Monday, there will be another similar (but shorter) meeting next Sunday 17th July, immediately after the 11am service. We particularly encourage parents of church children to come but all are welcome. The meeting will last 45 minutes and there will be activities for children while it takes place.

For Your Prayers

Prayer for the Week:

Jesus, be the centre, be my source, be my light, Jesus.
Jesus, be the centre, be my hope, be my song, Jesus.
Be the fire in my heart, be the wind in these sails
Be the reason that I live, Jesus.
Jesus, be my vision, be my path, be my guide, Jesus.
