Canon Simon Butler Appointed to Town Centre Post in Guildford

It was announced on Sunday that, after twelve years as Vicar of St Mary’s, Canon Simon Butler will be leaving the parish in the autumn to take up the post of Rector of Holy Trinity & St Mary in Guildford Town Centre.

Simon will be leaving the parish on Sunday 26th November 2023 and will be Collated and Inducted at Holy Trinity by the Bishop of Guildford on Tuesday 9th January 2024.

Simon writes, “It will be such a wrench to leave St Mary’s and the wonderful diversity of North Battersea after twelve years serving here. But it is the right time to move on for the last decade of my stipendiary ministry and I will leave with many happy memories of such amazing people and much to look back on with gratitude to God and my parishioners and many others.”
