In the book of Isaiah, chapter 66, verse 2, it says in the Good News Translation: “I myself created the whole universe. I am pleased with those who are humble and repentant, who fear me and obey me.”
God will look at those with broken and contrite spirits. You must be broken before Jesus can use you. He is the crushed grape that gives wine.
The secret of the good life is to have a broken spirit. When you are truly broken you will be completely finished and hopeless away from God. Are we peacocks, or have we been broken by God to be like him? Some of us have gone through a lot before turning to God.
Am I right? In Matthew 5:4 it says, “Happy are those who mourn, God will comfort them.” God is the God of all comfort. Is your heart broken by great tragedy; is what you’re going through too much for you to bear – in your home, your place of work, place of worship, present relationship? Don’t worry, God will heal your broken, crushed self and comfort you. God will take away your tears, no matter what the test or trial. Your tears are testimony that you’re alive.
We should all be very careful of our scornful jokes, talk and actions, especially if they are hurtful. Be gentle in your approach, for some of us are quite sensitive. We can all be guilty of this. We need to treat each other with caution and tact, while speaking the truth.
Don’t try to intimidate others with our position, but be fearless like Martin Luther and stand your ground. Don’t let the world run over you. You can be powerful even while being meek. We all detest others stepping on our toes. God sees and sympathises.
We read in Proverbs 16:32 ” It is better to be patient than powerful. It is better to win control over yourself than over whole cities.” People have destroyed themselves because they couldn’t control themselves.
God is our healer. He’ll lift your burden. “Everything is possible for the person who believes.” (Mark 9:23) Look to God to give you the answer to your situation. God is the solution to all your problems. Talk to him in prayer. When you get into trouble he’ll be there to save you!
God bless you all though your unpredictable journeys on earth. Have a safe journey home!
