THE SURREY LANE PEOPLE’S ORGANISATION
SLPO Logo Black and White1The Surrey Lane People’s Organisation (SLPO) is a local community alliance representing the  Surrey Lane Estate and was formed with the support of resident’s associations, St. Mary’s Church and London Citizens. It aims to listen, look and identify issues affecting local people and, by working together, address them.

There will be a COMMUNITY WALK on SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER at 12:30pm starting from St.Mary’s Church.
WE INVITE ST. MARY’S TO JOIN US.

We hope to identify areas of concern: pavements, fly-tipping, litter, cleaning, maintenance of recent planting etc.
The route will pass Battersea Church Road, Battersea Square and finish on the Surrey Lane  Estate.
A campaign for a safer football pitch was led by the young people of Surrey Lane. The pitch was in a state of disrepair leading to a number of injuries. At a recent Wandsworth Council “Let’s Talk” event for St. Mary’s Park ward, a local team successfully lobbied for support from Tessa Strickland our local councillor. Successful meetings with Wandsworth Council’s Director of Housing and Community Services, Brian Reilly, meant that a new football pitch was delivered just before the school holidays.
SLPO members have so far successful in obtaining improvements worth £50,000, including the new pitch.
We hope to see you after church on Sunday 23rd November.
