One definition of success could be a favourable outcome of an attempt, with attainment of wealth, fame or position. Anything in life you do that you deserve a good result and eventually have it, is success.
Success has friends, brothers, sisters, you name it! One feels happy, elevated, relaxed, when success turns up. The sky becomes your limit. With continuous success, you arrive at your self-actualization.
Who can say that his/her life has always been a success? I don’t think that someone can boast of always being successful. Watch out if this is you, for failure can be a great disappointment.
Success brings happiness, but failure can be distressing at the time. However, failure can be a road to happiness. If you hit rock bottom the only way to get up is by working harder. Look at famous people who have battled bad times and come out smiling. Success can come after a failure.
For students, the bravest thing you can do is to ask for help to assure success. When you need help, ask for it from God first. Also ask your parents, teachers, friends and siblings. You will be happier and have more confidence than ever.
People see redundancy as failure. Many have experienced this, including me. It can be heart breaking. Life is often like that – if you don’t lose something you have not started living yet. However, when you lose a job, so many things are at stake, mortgage or rent, responsibilities, your entire life!
When I experienced redundancy, I just went home, prayed and read Psalms 27 and 31, which are my favourite Psalms in time of trial. I concluded saying, “God, I know you have a better job for me, with time I will be all right. I do believe very much in your help. Amen.”
After two days, I was called by an agency and after that I was always in a job daily. I had to choose what and where I wanted to work. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
When you’re down in life, pick yourself up. When they lose a job, some people dry their eyes, dust themselves off and decide what they are going to do with their lives. This might even be their own business.
With God, your failure becomes success. He’s always ready to lift you up. Just call on him and he will be there with you. He will change your tears to laughter (see Psalm 30:11-12 and Psalm 126:5-6).
Jesus said in Matthew 28:20 that he would be with us always. He changes unhappiness to happiness provided you trust and obey him. God is love (1 John 4:8) and he doesn’t want us to suffer too much. When he sees it is too much for us he intervenes and comforts us. Remember, you are not alone at any time. He is there with you, whatever you are going through. Don’t lose hope: it will be well eventually.
I wish you the best in Jesus’ name. Amen.
