Some people are fed up with living; Where’s your faith?

Are you at a point in your life when you seem to have lost your faith? Choose at this moment to trust in the goodness of God.

The year 2016 seems to be the fastest year I have experienced. Thank God for keeping us alive to see it.

Are you at a point in your life when you seem to have lost your faith? Choose at this moment to trust in the goodness of God.

The Bible says that we should pray always (Ephesians 6:18). God will answer our prayers. Sometimes we want something immediately, but this may take some time. What we must have in mind is that God is not a human being, we cannot dictate to God what to do and when to do it. In delaying, God wants to give us the best.

If you don’t know to whom to turn or if you feel alone in a challenge and long for someone to comfort and support you, tell yourself, “I will trust in the goodness of God.” The goodness of God will lead and guide you to a new understanding of God’s potential inside you as God’s child. God’s goodness will transform every fear into faith, every doubt into peace, every apprehension into courage, and every burden into a knowledge that God is waiting lovingly with the answer. Relax and know that your Heavenly Father is leading you out of what appears to be the worst into what is the best.

Jesus came that you might have life and joy, not meagrely but abundantly (John 3:16 and John 15:11).

People should find a way to unwind. However, atrocious things are happening in the world and we do not feel we have a safe haven. People tell lies; we live with great uncertainty; there is violence. People suffer from lack of sleep, appetite or hope. There are more psychiatric problems. Doctors must be having a very tough time. Whoever envisioned the world like this now? This is madness, but how can it be stopped? Only with God!

How can human beings be so wicked to their fellow human beings? Well, it boils down to the heart being a very bitter part of the body, unforgiving, always thinking (with the aid of the brain) of revenge, never resting until all enemies are wiped out; forgetting that God said, “Vengeance is mine” (Romans 12:19).

There’s no place in your life, dear friend, that is isolated from the goodness of God. This goodness is so powerful that no one can take it from us, diminish it or destroy it. Most of us have gone through a lot in our lives. Sometimes our past can be very bitter, but we have to move forward discovering what gives us happiness. With holiness comes goodness because we are in touch God. We can then find out what God wants us to do. We have to pray and listen to God.

Our Heavenly Father knows our needs before we ask (Matthew 6:8). But we also have to listen and hear what God wants us to do. Everyone has a vocation and we need to listen to know what it is. God may talk to us in dreams or while we are praying. We must be patient, but if we have been listening, we will know that God has something special for each one of us.

Each of us should pray: Lord, let me face new challenges, circumstances or storms of life with courage and hope in you. However high the waves, in you there’s calm and security. May your word dwell richly in me and may my soul be fed by your words.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, fruitful New Year?
