Parish Support Fund

News on the Parish Support Fund from The Bishop of Southwark

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we draw together the financial outcome for 2016, I want to thank you for your contribution to the Parish Support Fund. I am delighted to be able to tell you all that we have achieved 99.9% of the money which had been pledged for 2016, this includes some payments of outstanding amounts from previous years and some one-off donations.

This is an extraordinary outcome for our first year using the PSF and I want to thank everyone who has been involved in helping to bring this about, so that we can fund the mission and ministry of the Church in our Diocese.  I am pleased too, that the pledges for 2017 have reached £16.25m to date, which has enabled us to reach our 2017 budget, and are beginning to be collected.

We have so many good things happening in our Diocese as we seek to serve our communities, share our faith with great joy and gladness and to be the church full of people with hearts on fire, who love God, walk with Jesus and are led by the Spirit.   Your pledges in support of all that do as we seek to share God’s love in South London and East Surrey means that we can be ever more imaginative in finding new ways to do this and be the Church.

Please thank your congregations for all that they do to enable the mission and ministry of the churches in this Diocese.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as we share in God’s work here in Southwark Diocese,

With my sincere appreciation and good wishes

The Bishop of Southwark
