Junior Church – Easter 2017

The last month has been a very exciting and fun time for Junior Church! We have really enjoyed learning more about Jesus in the lead up to Easter.
The 26th of March was Mothering Sunday, so we discussed how much our mums love us and everything they do for us every day. We decided that we wanted to make cards for our mums to show them how much we love them and to say thank you for all the things they do for us. All the cards were beautiful!

On Palm Sunday, Junior Church loved acting out the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey! To help us imagine the scene we looked at pictures of donkeys and noticed that there are sometimes crosses on their backs. After we had acted out the scene we thought about how Jesus may have felt when he entered Jerusalem surrounded by a crowd of people. We then made banners with welcoming messages for Jesus.

The excitement at Junior Church did not end after Easter. On Sunday the 23rd of April, we looked at St George and how brave he had been when heĀ  faced the dragon. We then discussed what things make us frightened and how we can ask God to help us to be brave so we can face are fears. After that we made St George crosses with red and white tissue paper, to remind us to be brave.
All of us at Junior Church are looking forward to having fun and learning more next month!
