Happiness

Glady shares her thoughts on Happiness

‘Happiness is intrinsic, it’s an internal thing; when you build it into yourself, no external circumstances can take it away. There are lots of things that can make us joyful, so also are those that distress us.’ Leo F. Buscaglla.
Each of us comes into this world as a unique, divine spark. We could not have made an entry without divine intervention, but our birth is into this noisy confusion of life. Gone are the days when parents aspire to give their children basic education with jobs waiting. Now, even a PhD holder finds it difficult to get a real job.
Sometimes when I think of problems facing me that remain unsolved, I feel like running away: but, to where? Only to God! Without prayer I should not be the person I am.
A friend of mine once told me, “As long as one is in this world, problems must crop up; maybe one, in pairs, or more. When one is solved, wisdom is achieved, then bigger problems come. Could you have stood what happened to Job in the Bible if you were in his shoes? Cheer up, it will be well if you trust God and if you take everything to God in prayer”.
I have decided peacefully to accept the things I cannot change and to change the things I can. I try to be at peace with myself, the world and everyone in it. We have to learn to detach from worldly pressures and retreat to an inner place of calm. Try a walk along the riverside watching the birds and boats. Witness a beautiful sunset; eat some ice cream; listen to a Bach cantata or some classical music.
Life is a puzzle, a jungle, a forest. One can never predict what one will meet. God is in complete control. Life without Christ is crisis. However, my God is alive. Whatever you’re going through, God is still God. He permits things to happen to you so that lessons are learned. God is good all the time. He is love, hence he gave his son to die for us all.

Learn this lesson: If you believe your own mistakes have destroyed your happiness, accept the fact. Put it aside. You can not go back for another try. Learn and move on.
You are wiser now. You can never reshape the past, but you can shape the present.

May God help us live a life of patience and happiness.
