Face Life Squarely:- Remember, have faith, believe, trust and obey God
You haven’t seen anything yet in your life! I tell my friends that I learnt how to write prayers and pray secretly during the Nigerian/Biafra War that tore many of us into pieces. Many lost their lives, but mine was spared for reasons best known to God.
When I went for to work for money in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf War commenced three days after. I was recruited into the Army Cantonment as a senior nurse to help out in their big hospital. God showed me how to get out. I didn’t run away. That would have been very dangerous, but in addition, all my documents were with the authorities. I believed that God had enabled me to go there, so God would get me out as well. After my first contracted year I was sent to London on annual leave. Because my eyes played up, I didn’t go back.
When you listen to the news you can get fed up listening to all the cheating, stealing, manipulation and corruption to the highest degree. I often imagine that the murdered are crying in their graves for vengeance. For some, there is sudden poverty and eating 2, much less 3 square meals a day is impossible. I am aware of dear ones suffering.
Going home to be with relatives is always on our minds, but the cost is now exorbitant, even before budgeting for gifts. Some have received retirement notices before working sufficiently long. For some, there are aches and pains reminding us that we ought to retire. Others work on because of unpaid mortgages and other bills. We all know these things.
There is horrible news all over the world – frightening things happening and new diseases as examples. As I have said before, “Life is not only a forest, but a bunch of thorns.” All I know is God is greater than all our troubles and problems. God is the key to our freedom and the ultimate authority. We can only wait on God and continue praying.
We have to face life squarely. Bad times don’t last forever. There are ups and downs in life. The snake of hardship is never too far away so we have to pray unceasingly. Never tire of communicating with God. Think about Psalm 95:3-6
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hands are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
We don’t have enough crowns to crown Jesus who came and gave his life for us. We must confess him. We belong to Jesus and should speak his words, walk his spiritual path and have faith in him. God made this world and gave man the authority to run it. God is watching us, so we should make sure we love one another.
May God help us to live a worthy life.
In Jesus’ name.
