This month’s thoughts from Emrys Lloyd-Roberts

I am beginning to find out who St. Mary’s is.

During the last month I had the following experiences. One of my sons gave me a car, but it needed to be repaired. Not knowing a good service station in the area I asked my church family for help. Many responded with practical advice.

The car is now in full running order; and I know that St. Mary’s is a community happy to give practical help. During communion one Sunday, I noticed a mother beckoning to her daughter to join her at the communion rail. The daughter had been at junior church. The daughter was so pleased to join her mother that she ran up the aisle. Together they received their blessings at the communion rail.

I thought that the image was an excellent illustration of our presence in the community. Wouldn’t it be great if the people with whom we share our faith became so excited about spiritual issues that they rushed to a place where they could receive a blessing? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to share that blessing with them as a family, perhaps here at St. Mary’s?

I’m really looking forward to learning more here… Praise God!
