Details of courses run by the Diocese of Southwark

The Diocese of Southwark runs a number of events every year that might be of
interest to St Mary’s members.

The Wonder and the Chaos: Spirituality for parents amidst small children
Saturday 18 October, 10am-1pm
Holy Trinity Church, The Broadway, South Wimbledon, SW19 1SB.

This event aims to explore some of the blessings and challenges small children bring
to your spiritual life, to resource and encourage you. It is aimed at parents with
young children, but people who support and minister to parents are very welcome.
Children are welcome, either to stay with you or participate in activities provided.

Light for the World – an event for lay people
Saturday 13th September 10-4
Trinity House, 4 Chapel Court, Borough High Street, SE1 1HW

Dr Rachel Jordan, the National Adviser for Mission and Evangelism will lead ‘Light
for the World – Re-imagining the mission and ministry of the whole people of God’, a
one day event for lay people.
Light for the Worldwill help participants re-imagine how we engage with the
communities of which we are a part: building relationship and sharing in word and
action the Good News of Jesus Christ – both as individuals and as church.

St Paul’s Cathedral Forum: The Poetry of Mystery

Tuesday 7th October 6.30pm to 7.30pm at St Paul’s Cathedral (Free)

The next of St Paul’s open events explores the significance of poetry and the nature
of mystery and faith in God.
Led by a former Archbishop of Canterbury and published poet, and one of Britian’s
most-loved living poets, this promises to be a stimulating evening.
