Sunday 27th November 2-5 pm
Followed by Advent Carols
At the end of November we shall be holding our first Advent Fair in the crypt of the church. We have invited local stall holders and there will be a number of charity stalls too with fantastic ethically made goods such as simple wood crosses and nativity scenes from Palestine, cards and wrapping paper from The Children’s Society as well as hand made gifts and textiles from Sari Bari and Freeset. We have some super children’s activities too – making Advent wreaths and sewing the all-important Christmas stocking. Apparently an important visitor may attend – you will have to listen out for him! I am told he is very jolly!
We will be selling mulled wine, mince pies, plus a whole range of cakes, gingerbreads, preserves, jams and chutneys. Don’t miss the chance to learn how to make delicious chutney with our expert Stephen Miles. He will be teaching us all how to do it on Thursday 17th November between 4:30 and 6 pm in the crypt kitchen. Entrance is via the side door to the crypt (where the lift is). Offers of cakes to Emily Standring please.
Please stay when the fair ends and move upstairs to enjoy our Advent Carol Service which starts at 6 pm.
Calling all bakers and jam makers.
We are looking for home-made produce for the cake stall at the Advent Fair on 27 November. If you are able to contribute cakes, mince pies, jams, chutneys etc, please email [email protected] or call 07939 068971.
We would also love some volunteers to help on the stall during the fair (2pm – 5pm).
