A Personal Statement from our Vicar

A Personal Statement from our Vicar

I would like to thank you all for the quiet and sincere welcome back to ministry following the difficult weeks of late last year. I couldn’t have asked for more sensitive, thoughtful and respectful treatment. I’m particularly grateful for the way much speculation and intrusive questioning has been avoided.

As a result, my return to ministry has seemed remarkably normal and easy. We haven’t dwelt on the past, although the PCC in particular has had time to think about what happened; however it already seems like much of the matter has been put behind us and we are already looking forward positively to the future. There is more work to be done, of course, but things seem to be settling down very well indeed. I am happy and functioning well. I am proud to be the Vicar of such a mature and supportive congregation.

Finally, my heartfelt thanks to Debbie and Sue, our Wardens, for their ongoing support and guidance. We continue to owe them – together with Peter, Colin, Alison, Asi, Sunny and Ty – an enormous debt of gratitude.
