Joseph and his amazing coloured coat
This July to celebrate the end of the summer term we are intending to put on a production performance of Joseph.
This popular musical from Andrew Llloyd Webber and Tim Rice tells the biblical story of Joseph who was blessed with visions from his dreams. We are hoping that many of of our St Mary’s congregation will take part. There are many ways to get involved for all ages, those who like performing, those who may prefer to work behind the scenes with costumes, props, lighting and sound. There will also be opportunities for getting involved in hospitality and publicity in the run up to the show which we are aiming for on Saturday 18th July a matinee and evening performance. During the Easter holiday we will be holding a casting workshop for children on Weds 8th April, 2-4pm.
Adults are invited to get in touch with me if they are interested in playing the following roles: Joseph (Male), Jacob(Male), Potipher (Male), Mrs Potipher(Female), Pharaoh(Male), Judah (Male). The narration will be sung by St Mary’s choir and the Westbridge choir will be the children’s chorus.
This will be an exciting project which I pray will nurture good relationships between the Church and our surrounding community. Look out for invitations to get involved throughout April and rehearsals will begin in May God willing.
Premier Studio Visit
Our administrator Sunny and I were blessed with an invitation to celebrate 20 years of Premier radio with afternoon tea at their studios in March. We discovered that Premier is not just a radio station, there is so much more to their Ministry; Magazine publications, lifeline; a telephone helpline where operatives pray with callers and a television studio, recording programs to broadcast online. Sunny and I had a lovely time meeting with
Michael Cleere a presenter who brings Sunday Worship through broadcasting reaching many who are unable to get to Church on a Sunday morning.
I felt quite inspired meeting quite a few Christians doing great work, with a strong sense of mission and I look forward to seeing where these new connections will lead. God has a purpose.
