Katy is a professional organist and choral conductor and regularly performs in solo and choral recitals. She also works as a teacher and accompanist in several schools. As an undergraduate, Katy studied Music at Worcester College, Oxford and was the first female organ scholar of the college. She accompanied and directed the chapel choir, featuring on BBC Radio 4's 'Sunday Worship' and performing in various cathedrals including St Paul's, Gloucester and St Alban's.

After graduating, Katy qualified as a secondary school teacher and taught music for several years before deciding to devote more time to the organ. She was the 2015-16 organ scholar at St Mary's before going on to positions at Guildford Cathedral and St Mary's, Putney. Katy graduated with Distinction from the Master of Music in Performance course at the Royal College of Music in 2018 and also holds the Associateship diploma from the Royal College of Organists.

Parish and Church Manager
Felicity Brindle

Felicity is the first person you are likely to encounter when you contact St Mary's.

She joined us in March 2023. Felicity has a background in HR and talent management and is a career coach outside of her work at the Church.

Her working dates are Monday (From Home) and Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays (in Church). On Church Days, the office will be open for you to visit or make enquiries from 10am to 4pm those days. At other times, please contact the office by email or telephone.

People's Warden
Stuart McAlpine

Chris is the People's Church Warden, elected by the Annual Meeting to this ancient office, which goes back to the Middle Ages. The Church Warden's job is to work with the Vicar and the Church Council and to be the key senior lay leader of the church.

Stuart moved to Battersea in early 2015 and began worshipping with us shortly afterwards. He was confirmed at the church in October 2016 and has been on the PCC since 2017. He’ s a practising maritime lawyer, married to Bev (a garden designer) and they have three daughters and one grandson.

He’s Welsh and so singing and rugby are his major passions. He just wishes he was more accomplished at both!

Evalyn is the Vicar's Warden. Evalyn joined St Mary's about ten years ago, after doing the Alpha Course with the rest of her family. A former CBS journalist based in New York City, Evalyn is now pursuing a life as a writer. She lives in Hammersmith.
