The Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Juliana Annan, accompanied by the Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London for Wandsworth, Mrs Colleen Harris, MVO, will lead the Borough Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Battersea on Sunday 12th November at 10.45am. The service will be followed by a march-past of cadets from St Mary’s down Battersea High Street and the Mayor will take the salute outside Thomas’s School.

This service is always well attended and worshippers are asked to be seated in church by 10.40am. The traditional two-minutes’ silence will take place at the eleventh hour.

This year the preacher will be our Vicar, Canon Simon Butler, himself a former serviceman, and alongside the honouring of our war dead, and those veterans who live with the consequences of military service, this year will focus a special concern on all casualties of war, military and civilian, especially with the conflicts in Israel and Gaza, and Ukraine in mind.

St Mary’s Choir will perform William Harris’s beautiful anthem Bring us, O Lord God, and Peter Aston’s So they gave their bodies.

We warmly invite people of all faiths and none to attend.
