This Week’s Notices
You are invited to a special meeting to discuss our ongoing ministry to Families and Children on Monday 4th July at 8pm.
Open Church Sunday afternoons: We want to keep the church open on Sunday afternoons during the summer months and we need volunteers to do this either 1pm-3pm or 3pm-5pm. Please sign at back of the church. Thank you Libby 07956 655 037
Revd. Peter & Alison Wintgens: If you would like to contribute to Peter and Alison’s leaving gift, please send your donation directly to the Parish Office (marked “Peter & Alison’s Leaving Gift”). Alternatively you can do the same via the Sunday collection.
Peter & Alison’s Farewell Party: We’re having a Leaving Picnic and Drinks in the Church Yard after the 11am service on Sunday 24th July. We need a few volunteers to help serve and wash up. Offers soon to Sue Whitley and Debbie Apostolides.
St Mary’s Fair: This year’s Fair will take place on Saturday 17th September and offers of help are now being sought. Please contact Debbie Apostolides ([email protected]) to find out what you can do in this fun-filled fundraising afternoon. Sign up at the back.
Meadbank need Wheelchairs – Does anyone have a spare light wheelchair not being used at present? At Meadbank they currently don’t have enough wheelchairs to get all those who’d like to come to church down to church. Meadbank could use just a few of the lightweight ones and it may be that someone might have one tucked away not being used. If so, please contact the church office.
Summer Worship: From Sunday 31st July until the last Sunday of August, St Mary’s goes into ‘summer mode’: the 8.30am service remains the same, the choir take a few weeks’ off and the liturgy at the 11am service simplifies. The 6.30pm worship pattern changes to each Sunday being Evening Prayer.
Summer Junior Church: Junior Church during these weeks is run by a small team of volunteers. Please speak to Asi Munisi to get involved.
Summer Hymns: If you’d like us to sing a favourite hymn during these weeks – especially if you don’t think it’s been sung for a while – please let the Vicar know.
Toddler Group at Dimson Lodge: After many years of operating the Monday Toddler Group at Dimson Lodge is to close this Summer. Plans for our ministry to parents and toddlers will be discussed in the coming weeks including at tomorrow evening’s special meeting. Come along at 8pm. An enormous thank you to all who have been involved over the years.

For Your Prayers
Prayer for the Week:
Please pray this coming week for the forthcoming meeting of the General Synod as it meets in private for Shared Conversations on Human Sexuality which, if not resolved, threatens to split the church.
Almighty God,
you have given your Holy Spirit to the Church
to lead us into all truth:
bless with the Spirit’s grace and presence
the members of the General Synod;
keep them steadfast in faith and united in love,
that they may manifest your glory
and prepare the way of your kingdom;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.
