The Glass Door – Homeless Charity are looking for donations for their night shelters. They especially need male clothing, toiletries, socks, new underwear, jeans, tee shirts and sleeping bags, also towels and blankets. Please bring any donations to church on Sundays. Remembrance Sunday Concert Trip: On Sunday 13th November at 7.30pm, we are planning a trip to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall for the spectacular Grande Messe des Morts by Berlioz. If you would like to join a group going that evening, please sign up for a ticket at the back. Front of the Circle tickets are about £24 on a group booking. Deadline: TODAY.
Hallowe’en/All Saints’ Party for Children: There will be a special event on the afternoon of Sunday 30th October. A great way to end half-term and to celebrate God’s goodness to people in a fun way. Please put the date in your diary.
Welcomers: Our welcome team has a new leader in Carol Bailey. Carol is keen to recruit more people to our 11am welcomers’ team and, as a way of encouraging more, is planning to introduce a new rota-based system to replace the once a month approach that the team currently has. Please consider joining the welcomers’ rota. Training will be provided Contact Carol: [email protected]
Safeguarding Officer: Felicity Prazak is our new Safeguarding Officer and it is her role to work with Simon to ensure that children and vulnerable adults at St Mary’s are kept safe from harm. If you have any safeguarding concerns, you should contact Felicity using the contact details on the noticeboard near the church door.
Paul Kennington: Our previous Vicar and his partner Jonathan are returning to the UK from Montreal Cathedral and Paul is to become House for Duty Priest at St Andrew’s Leytonstone in the Diocese of Chelmsford. Katherine Low Settlement AGM & Party: You are warmly invited to this special event – more a showcase than an AGM – on Wednesday 5th October at 7pm. All are welcome.

Pastoral Care Induction: A number of people have come forward interested in helping in our ministry of care in various ways. There will be an induction evening on 17th October at 8pm in Church. Others are very welcome to come and find out more.

Almighty God, you have entrusted to your Church a share in the ministry of your Son our great high priest: inspire by your Holy Spirit the hearts of many to offer themselves for the ministry of your Church, that strengthened by his power, they may work for the increase of your kingdom and set forward the eternal praise of your name; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
