At the beginning of Holy Week, the highlight of the Christian Year, the Choir and Scholars of St Mary’s Battersea, with a small orchestra directed by our Director of Music, Katy Silverman, will perform Part 2 of Handel’s popular Messiah. The second part of the famous oratorio features the story of the Passion of Jesus, as reflected in the various biblical texts sung by the soloists and chorus, culminating in the famous Hallelujah Chorus.

The music will be interspersed with readings from poetry and prose chosen by Canon Simon Butler, Vicar of St Mary’s.

The performance is completely free, and will begin at 6pm on Sunday 10th April. We warmly invite you to join us for a special evening.
