Maundy Thursday to the Easter Vigil is a continuos act of worship. It is best appreciated by being part of all three services.
The mood of Thursday evening’s service starts positive and ends much more darkly and dramatically. We’re with Jesus in the Upper Room. We remember his service of others through a simple act of foot washing, followed by a quiet celebration of the first Last Supper. Eventually, the lights are dimmed and the church is stripped bare of decoration. We’re now in the Garden of Gethsemane and a Watch of Prayer continues until midnight.
Come and pray with Jesus.
