If you have children between the ages of 8 and 16 and are looking for holiday activities then look no further than Battersea Park in early August. Sport in the Park returns for its 15th year from the 2nd to the 5th August between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm. Children pay just £1 per day for a wristband that lets them have a go at a huge variety of sports – football, tennis, archery, martial arts and climbing to name but a few. Approximately 500 children per day are likely to attend.
Battersea Summer Scheme is a project of Battersea Crime Prevention Panel, a registered charity in England and Wales, which was set up to make the area a safer place to live, work and play. Sport in the Park is the flagship annual event for the charity, which was set up in 1992 with the aim of providing holiday outings and trips to children living in underprivileged parts of Battersea and the surrounding area.
