Treading the boards… and the planks at the deanery pantomime.
A few members of St Mary’s took part in the second Battersea deanery pantomime which was held at Christ Church and St Stephen at the end of January.
Organised, written and directed by our area Dean Geoffrey Owen, Robinson Crusoe took Battersea by storm and was a big success. Asi Munisi was a very impressive Pirate King and bought the ship down with her rendition of Diamonds are Forever whilst Chris Apostolides proved himself as a very remarkable pantomime dame in the role of Mrs Crusoe (Robinson’s mum) whilst Rev. Annie Kurk (of St Michael’s) made a lovely Girl Friday.
As a result of St Mary’s efforts, it receives £300 to be given to a charity of our choice.
Geoffrey Owen has already started writing next year’s panto which will be Aladdin.
Look out for notices about this in the summer and do get involved. It’s a fun way to meet people from other local parishes.
