Panto Fun and Toddler Praise
Pictures and reports from the Deanery Panto, and an update on Toddler Praise
It’s a fair assumption that all of the Battersea Deanery who were involved in the panto had good fun. It was such a wonderful experience for churches to work together and bring joy through quite an excellent standard of performance. Opening night went off to a good start, great audience participation, great performances from the cast and particularly hard working stage crew making sure everything was where it should be. Choreographer was ready to give notes at the end of the night, but there was not many to give as the performance went so well. It all came together, so it’s true when they say ‘it will be alright on the night’.
Backstage I caught a few shots of our folk from St Mary’s ready to hit the stage.

This is the start of a great tradition for the Battersea Deanery. Let’s pray that it will form good lasting working relationships in the deanery and surrounding community for the good of all.
Come join us
Every Monday during school term time St Mary’s opens up the space in Dimson Lodge from 9.30am till 11.30am for toddlers to come and play accompanied by the parents/carers. We set up at 9am ready for arrivals at 9.30am. Tea/coffee is available for the parents/carers. At 10.30am we have a sing song, all the favourite nursery rhymes, followed by sharing a fruit snack. We have an amazing collection of toys. The cars are long time favourites, as whatever the weather our tots love to ride around in the open space with them.
We would welcome more volunteers to represent St Mary’s in our growing community. So if you like talking to people, making new friends or can offer a helping hand with setting up or clearing the area then please do contact me and come along to see how you like the experience.
It is such fun to journey with our very young and watch them develop a relationship with Jesus. Every Thursday we hold Toddler Praise. Set up begins around 10am, making the vestry a welcome space for children and setting up the Church for our story and songs. We begin in the vestry by ringing the bell and then process into Church. We sing our theme song together and then have a story about God’s love. We then sing some songs and are slowly working through our toddler praise challenge songs which parents/carers are encouraged to sing at home to help the children remember them. It’s such a beautiful thing to see the children when they know and remember songs and actions. Even down to the smallest babies can take part with the help of a parent/carer. We then sing our praying song before sharing the grace and processing back to the vestry for the children to play and us grown ups to enjoy tea/coffee, biscuits while the children get a fruit snack.
If you feel you would like to offer some of your time to either share a story, serve drinks or welcome our guests and chat to people, then please get in touch and come along one Thursday to test the waters.
