One of the first things our new curate Philip has noticed about St Mary’s is that it is greatly blessed by the involvement of church members at every level of church life, in worship, in leadership and in mission.
One area we currently need to find some new involvement is in leading prayers in church. Our regular team has dwindled a little over the past year or two and the time has come to find a few new prayer leaders.
It is understandable to find the idea of leading prayers in church a little daunting, but St Mary’s folk are very supportive and generous in receiving with gratitude the ministry that people offer.
But to help, Simon is offering a ‘taster & training session’ for anyone who might be interested in having a go at leading the prayers. During the session there will be a chance to hear what is involved and some guidance about how to lead prayers well. You can then have a chance to think and pray about getting involved.
The session is in church on Monday 22nd September from 7.45pm until 9pm. All are welcome: no need to book, just turn up.
