It has been a very exciting and full month in junior church! Here are a few things which we did:

On the 9th of October, Debbie lead junior church.  We looked at the story of Jesus healing the 10 people suffering from leprosy in Luke where only one said thank you.  We made masks and bandages so that we could look like we had leprosy and act out the story.  After acting out the story we discussed the importance of being grateful and prayed to God to help us to be thankful.

On the 16th of October, Belinda lead junior church. We looked at the story of the persistent women and the unjust judge Luke 18:1-8.  After looking at the story on the ipad, we discussed the importance of prayer. To help us remember to pray we decorated salt dough prayer aids kindly made by Belinda.

On the 23rd of October, Allison lead junior church. We looked at the story of the big showy off man, otherwise known as the proud Phrases and the humble tax collector. We used a ladder to illustrate the story; The Pharisee went up a rung every time he praised himself and the Tax Inspector went down a rung every time he said something humble. At the end of the story the ladder was flipped around, so that the Tax inspector was at the top of the ladder. This illustrated that honesty puts you higher in God’s favour than boasting.

Next month we are going to start working on are Nativity play!
