We have had a great month in Junior Church! Everyone seems to be enjoying the Godly
Play sessions and the new room.
On the 11th of February we did the Parable of the Great Pearl. The Parable sets come in
special golden boxes to show the children that parables are presents given to us by God.
The children really enjoyed the parable and we had a very lively wondering session. There
was a very special moment in the session where one of the children came up to me and
said I cannot give you everything, but I can give you a hug. As always, the children had
very creative responses to the story and seeing what they made really made me think
about the Parable in new ways.
On the 18th of February Debbie told the Baptism story. This story is designed to teach the
children about baptism and what their baptism signifies. We thought this was a really good
story to do in Junior Church because of all the baptism that the children see at church. The children really engaged with the story especially when the baptism candles where lit.
In the next few weeks Debbie and I will be stepping back, and other members of the
Junior Church team will start to tell the stories, which will definitely be wonderful for me
and hopeful for them as well!
Again, if anyone would be interested in being a door keeper
for one of the sessions please email Cal at [email protected].
