January Blues away

some words of encouragement from Asi Munisi

January is often referred to as the gloomiest month of the year for various reasons; be it the credit card bill from the Christmas season, the resolution that did not last into the second week of the new year, the novelty of the joy at Christmas has worn off or just getting back into the same old routine.
Do you feel blue? Perhaps you may have reasons I have not mentioned, whatever they maybe I would like to offer some words of encouragement, a new perspective if you will. A quote:
‘Affliction comes to us, not to make us sad but sober; not to make us sorry, but wise’ – H.G. Wells
Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians 4:17 speaks of afflictions as momentary and are achieving for us an eternal glory. When you think about it that way, keep your focus on the Lord and your troubles will pass, as they are temporary.
How are you thinking? I hope you are not blue this January, but are still buzzing off the joyous festive Spirit of Christmas as am I. Carols in the square was particularly special in 2014 as our choir at Westbridge was invited to join Thomas’s in the singing and the children got to meet the mayor of Wandsworth who turned on the lights in the square and even took a picture with us around the tree.

I hope you have some happy memories you can draw on and I am always happy to share mine.
As we enter into yet another new year I invite you to journey with me in being present. Although we can look back to the past, let’s not dwell in it. We can dream of the future, but let’s try not to miss out on what’s happening in the present. May we be present in the present moment, acknowledging God our Father in every waking moment, to open our eyes to the love of Jesus and to feel renewed in the Holy Spirit.  Happy New Year!
Panto dates note change
