Our world has been changing due to the technological revolution that has been
happening all around us whether we like it or not. For some of us, we can hardly
remember life before the computer.
St. Mary’s is part of that world. I have unintentionally contributed to it. During summer
2013 I attended the Tuesday Group by SKYPE. I was able to enter into discussions with
other members of the group while sitting in my garden in California. Last year I read an
Old Testament lesson in church using my iPad instead of reading from a piece of paper.

technology I will be able to do this. Of course, I will not be able to approach people
personally to discuss possible articles, but I will still be able to communicate by email.
Some of you have given handwritten articles in the past. I have made arrangements for
that to continue. However, I would be grateful if articles can be written in black ink and
handed into the church office, or, if you see them in church, to Sunny Walker-Kier or
Distance should be no problem in having ‘business as usual’ at St. Mary’s! In this case, I
genuinely thank God for the marvels of modern technology.
