Christian Aid Week 14-20 May 2017

Christian Aid Week is 14-21 May, which we will be supporting at St Mary’s on Sunday 14 May.

British churches founded Christian Aid in 1945 to support refugees who had lost their homes and possessions in the Second World War. Twelve years later, Christian Aid Week was launched to help fund this ongoing work. Sixty years on and Christian Aid Week unites 20,000 churches across the country in support for refugees around the world, fleeing from conflict, war and its disastrous effects.  Christian Aid provides food, shelter and job skills training. as well as advocating policies to protect people and help them practically.  The head office is in The Cut, Waterloo, London, and their work reaches out across the world.
We are supporting this again, with our main focus on Sunday 14th May. Breakfast after 8.30am service and a book sale at both services. Envelopes will be available to take away for donations. Contact Carol Brindle or Cal Alphonse for more details.
You can help with a donation of money online at or by calling 08080 006006 or texting ‘GIVE’ to 70040 to donate.
