This Week’s Notices

FaithWorks 18: Pilgrimage to Passchendaele: A few places remain for our Pilgrimage for peace and remembrance to Passchendaele, 1-4th June. David in the Office will give you more details or E-mail: [email protected] or 07714 618 577

FaithWorks 18: Summer in the Square Returns: St Mary’s is hard at work in the planning stages of bringing back this popular local event in Battersea Square on 15th September. If you want to find out more about it, there will be a presentation in the morning services on Sunday 13th May, given by Simon and Jazz Wilson, and free cupcakes to anyone who would like to stay to find out how to get more involved after the 11am service. Enquiries about the event: [email protected]

FaithWorks 18: Ecumenical Pilgrimage Walk around London’s sites of Christian martyrdom will now be on Saturday 30th June (from 10am to 4pm). More details on the board at the back, including a sign-up sheet.

Revd. Aaron Kennedy will be licensed as Associate Vicar for Community Development and Mission on Sunday 1st July at 11am. This will also be the occasion of Simon’s Silver Jubilee of Ordination as a Priest and so it will be a double celebration. There will be a Choral Parish Eucharist, a Haydn mass with string accompaniment. Simon will preside and Bishop Richard will preach and license Aaron. Both clergy will be inviting guests so there will be a bubbly in the Churchyard afterwards and a Bring and Share Parish Picnic Lunch. Not to be missed!

Lost property: Please check the lost property box at the back of church near the coffee table. Anything unclaimed by Sunday 6th May will be given to a charity shop.

Brian Moynahan: We send our love and prayers to Priscilla and her family following Brian’s recent death. There will be a memorial service for Brian at St Mary’s on Thursday 17th May at 3.30pm

Concert: Mumbai StopGap Choir: There will be a special performance – from Bollywood to Beethoven – by this visiting choir from India at Sacred Heart Church on Sunday 20th May at 5pm. The StopGap Choir were founded in Chennai in 1972 to fundraise for some of the poorest people who had been washed out of their homes. It is now based in Mumbai and is on a short tour to the UK. Tickets £5 in aid of Don Bosco BREADS (BangaloreRural Education and Development Society). A great way to spend Pentecost evening.

Congratulations to Ellie Cooke and Alex Todd who are being married here at St Mary’s on Friday at 1.30pm. Ellie has been a member of St Mary’s all her life and you are warmly invited to join us for the service if you would like to come along.
