This Week’s Notices

FaithWorks 18: Pilgrimage to Passchendaele: 40 members and friends of St Mary’s head to Flanders next weekend for a 4-day pilgrimage for peace and remembrance. There’s still one or two places available if you would like to come. Speak to David Britten (07714 618 577) by the end of Monday.

Next Sunday: We are grateful to Revd. Anne Cocking who will be conducting our morning services next Sunday while Simon is leading the Flanders pilgrimage)

FaithWorks 18: Ecumenical Pilgrimage Walk around London’s sites of Christian martyrdom will now be on Saturday 30th June (from 10am to 4pm). More details on the board at the back, including a sign-up sheet.

FaithWorks 18: Summer in the Square: Plans are very much taking shape now for this big event on September 15th. We are urgently looking for someone to coordinate publicity and PR – this is really important at this stage – and for someone to lead on drawing together activities for children. Please contact Jazz Wilson ([email protected]) or Simon as soon as possible. Thank you.

Welcome to Aaron & Grace Kennedy: Aaron and Grace will be moving into 298 Trinity Road SW18 on 12th June. We would like to provide them with a welcome hamper of lovely things to let them know how much we are looking forward to meeting them. Please leave things in the box at the back of church or contact Sarah Macnab ([email protected]). Deadline: Sunday 10th June.

Revd. Aaron Kennedy will be licensed as Associate Vicar for Community Development and Mission by the Bishop of Kingston on Sunday 1st July at 11am. This will also be the occasion of Simon’s Silver Jubilee of Ordination as a Priest and so it will be a double celebration. There will be a Choral Parish Eucharist, a Haydn mass with string accompaniment. Simon will preside and Bishop Richard will preach. Both clergy will be inviting guests so there will be a bubbly in the Churchyard afterwards and a Bring and Share Parish Picnic Lunch. Please sign up at the back to bring some food (plus a bit extra for guests please!) and remember to bring a blanket or a garden chair! If you can assist in serving drinks or washing up please let Debbie Apostolides know.

Blessing of the Marriage of Jak Wilkinson and Andrea Caldera: Jak, who grew up at St Mary’s, is having an ecumenical service of blessing for his wedding on Saturday 9th June, which will begin at Sacred Heart Church at 3pm and conclude at St Mary’s. Richard Wilkinson writes, “I would like to invite those members of the congregation who know Jak and are not coming to the reception to come to the services and share a glass of wine with the wedding party in front of the Church after the service of blessing.”
