THIS WEEK’S NOTICES

Today: St Mary’s Battersea Ringers Open Tower Afternoon

A chance to venture up the tower at St Mary’s Battersea where there will be demonstrations of the bells being rung, a chance to have a go at ringing on our new state of the art virtual ringing system, historical artefacts and displays with information back to when the bells were first installed, a chance to find out more about the art of campanology across the country and of course plenty of refreshments! Feel free to visit the tower after church today.

St Mary’s Fair: If you would like to be involved in organising September’s Fair and Show please contact Susanna Williams via the Parish Office. This year’s fair is on Saturday 16th September between 12 and 4 pm.

Church Open to Visitors: If you can help keep the church open during the Summer, please sign up at the back of church. There are two, two-hour slots each Sunday afternoon. No local history knowledge required. Today and 18th June in the afternoon we will be serving tea and scones kindly donated by GAIL’S Artisan Bakery, Battersea Square.

The Ministry of Healing & Wholeness: Following our Lent sermon series and the much-appreciated modelling of this ministry, the Church Council has decided to introduce the opportunity to receive prayer for healing and wholeness as a regular part of our Sunday 11am service, on the last Sunday of each month, beginning in June on Sunday 28th.

CHRISTIAN AID 2017: A huge thank you to everyone who supported Christian Aid. We raised £1,105.20.

Open Deanery Synod Meeting, Talk & Drinks: Timothy Walker, a member of St Luke’s, Battersea and former Church Commissioner, will be giving a talk entitled The First Clapham Saints about the life of the area in the 17th century and the Puritans who made it their home. All are welcome at St Barnabas, Clapham Common (Ascension Hall, entrance in Lavender Gardens) at 7.30pm this Thursday 22nd June.

Summer Sunday Sermons: Would you like a sermon on a special topic, a theological issue, and ethical question or a particular passage of the bible? Please feel free to fill in the enclosed sheet and put your request in the box at the back of church. We will have sermons on some of these requests in the late July/early August period.

Junior Church Over the Summer: We try and give our wonderful Junior Church leaders some time off over the summer while still running a ‘light touch’ Sunday morning group for children. If you can help lead a group for a Sunday from 23rd July to the end of August, please contact Cal Alphone [email protected]
