TfL is proposing to withdraw the 19 bus from Battersea
TfL are consulting on widespread changes to bus routes in Central London. The bus which is most relevant to us in Battersea is the 19, which would be shortened to run only between Finsbury Park and Holborn.
This would mean that residents of north Battersea would lose their direct route to and from the West End. And instead of joining an empty 19, the many people who live near Battersea Bridge would have to use already overcrowded buses to go north across the river in the morning rush hour.
The proposal would have the greatest impact on wheelchair users, people with buggies and those carrying heavy bags.
Please register your views directly with TfL. The more individuals who respond, the more likely they are to change their proposals. The deadline for responding is Friday 9 November 2018. To take part in the consultation go to:
Alternatively you can request a paper copy of the consultation by writing to Freepost TFL Consultations or calling 0343 222 1155.You can send a written response to FREEPOST TFL CONSULTATIONS.
The Battersea Society will be objecting to this proposal in the strongest terms. We will be making known our views widely to Wandsworth Council and beyond.
